At least part of the answer comes from the lessons of social network science. Studies have shown that when a certain type of behavior change—like going vegan—faces social backlash, people often require social support in order to maintain that behavior in the long run. If people don't have the necessary amount of close, consistent social support, then they will usually revert back to whatever the norm is in society. In this AAM webinar, Steven Rouk will talk about how we can solve this problem and why he founded Connect For Animals as part of that solution.
