Hearts on Noses Volunteer and Potluck!

12-14 people cap Hello fellow awesome humans! I've been wanting to hit up a sanctuary for some good ol volunteer action and animal love (I'm very stoked on getting some piggy pats in). The more hands, the merrier! So I'm extending the invite to anyone who's interested. Janice, the wonderful sanctuary owner, seems very enthusiastic to have the FIRST VOLUNTEER GROUP OF THE YEAR (woohoo!) to come visit on April 20th. There's lots of work to be done! She also told me Saturdays are when the the big pigs come out, and we gotta look out for Charlie who is rambunctious and HUGE. How exciting! Come on out, get dirty, do some good, pat a pig or two and then after let's potluck! This means bring some good eats to share as well! Yes it's far, but if enough of us go with vehicles we can arrange some carpooling. I'll be coming from kits and can take a few people for sure. What to bring: Water bottle Garden/work gloves if you got em Outdoor work clothes (weather appropriate) Long pants would be ideal if we're cleaning up brush sunscreen - gotta protect your precious skin a change of clothes - unless you wanna drive home stinky A vegan food of choice to share Your own plate/bowl/utensils A good attitude - because nobody likes a bad attitude Please arrive by 10:45 latest (You late comers aim for 10:15am) as feeding has to start by 11am, and those piggies be HANGRY if they wait too long. Some notes from Janice: We would love it if our new help could pick up the many sticks we left all winter from our beautiful trees here, raking of branches into our truck for a dump run. And that run is an experience in itself hahaha Moving of gravel , waste and bark mulch are some of our needs as well as clearing new growth of bush so our pigs can get threw to good grass ;o) Bylaws do not allow parking on Dewdney Trunk Road which is where we are located but we are on a corner so my team parts on the side streets .
