Italian Cultural Centre Pressure Campaign

For yet another year the Italian Cultural Center has decided to make money off the death of animals who are near extinction. We are all disgusted that Edmonton's Italian cultural center is hosting an event for Safari Club international. There is hardly a more vile group of hunters than those in this organization that hunt merely for a trophy to stick on their wall and will pay a lot of money to do so. Trophy Hunters are are responsible for the endangerment of many species including elephants, rhinos and lions. Lets tell the Italian Cultural Centre just what we think of them hosting this event. It has come to our attention that you are hosting the Banquet for some of the most vile human beings on this earth. Trophy Hunters. Do you know anything about these individuals and what they are doing to the animals and the planet? Trophy Hunting is a form of hunting for sport in which parts of the hunted wild animals are kept and displayed as trophies.[1] The animal being targeted, known as the "game", is typically a mature male specimen from a popular species of collectable interests, usually of large sizes, holding impressive horns, antlers, furs or manes. Trophy hunters are responsible for species extinction and in no way contribute to the conservation efforts in the world. How can killing be saving a species??? They are destroying our wild animals and wild birds. Most "trophies" otherwise known as the animal body parts, consist of only select parts of the animal, which are prepared for display by a taxidermist. These often include head, hide, tusks, horns, or antlers. Trophies are often displayed in trophy rooms or game rooms, or by gun rooms along with the hunter's gun collection. [2] How can you support such an atrocity? How are you ok with allowing these types of individuals into your building? Is it only for the money? Do you have no values and morals yourself? This will speak loudly about the type of business you are, by allowing Trophy Hunters to once again fill up your Center and boast about all the killing they have done and hand out prizes. I am sure they have set up a lovely display of animal body parts for everyone to look at. Do you know anything about the Climate Crisis we are in right now? It is actually an emergency. How does killing all life on this planet help to preserve the planet? These animals are killed only for sport, not for any other reason. No one needs to kill these animals to survive. Disgusting. We ask, first politely, to cease allowing these Trophy Hunters into your facility. Give them their money back and wash the blood off your hands. If you do not respond, we will know your answer and will continue with our planned protest with some surprises in store this time. I am extremely disappointed you have not already cut ties.
