About this event

Susan Pitcairn, M.S., and Jan Allegretti, D.Vet.Hom., will explore the many health, environmental, and ethical benefits of reducing or eliminating animal products in your dogs’ and cats’ diets. They’ll also share strategies for how you can safely feed a vegan diet—and the health benefits you can expect as a result. Jan Allegretti, D.Vet.Hom, has been a holistic health consultant and educator for nonhuman animals since 1988, focusing on nutrition, homeopathy, and lifestyle assessment. She is the author of The Holistic Animal Health Series, including The Complete Holistic Dog Book, and The Fresh & Flexible Meal Plan. An animal advocate, Jan has led initiatives to prevent a slaughterhouse, co-founded CARE: Compassion for Animals, Respect for the Earth, and is a nominee for the American Red Cross Real Heroes Award. Susan Hubble Pitcairn, MS, is co-author with her husband, Richard Pitcairn, DVM, of “Dr. Pitcairn‘s complete guide to Natural Health for dogs and cats, “ a classic in its field since 1981. She especially contributed nutritional analysis and recipes to all editions, as well as information on environmental and lifestyle issues. Susan is also an accomplished landscape artist and video maker, as well as a vegan community facilitator in Sedona, Arizona
