About this event
We are currently reading Animal Rights/Human Rights: Entanglements of Oppression and Liberation by David Nibert. David Nibert is a sociologist, and in this book, he talks about the interconnections between capitalism, animal exploitation, and other systems of oppression like racism, sexism, and ableism.
We'll discuss chapter 3 on Sunday, March 3rd from 5:30pm - 6:30pm on Zoom. Join us on the book club channel in our Slack community. We highly recommend reading this book, but you are welcome to join our discussions even if you didn't do the reading. If you're interested in helping Pro-Animal Future's campaign in 2024, this knowledge can encourage Denverites to vote yes to ban slaughterhouses and fur products!
Don't worry if you are behind or haven't done all the reading. We highly recommend this book, but some of us are only reading parts of it or summaries. Come as you are and enjoy a great discussion about an important human and animal rights topic.
Here's a schedule for the rest of Animal Rights/Human Rights:
Chapter 3 (39 pages) - 3/3
Chapter 4 (41 pages) - 3/10
Chapter 5 (46 pages) - 3/17
Chapter 6 (41 pages) - 3/24
Chapter 7 (18 pages) - 3/31
Join our campaign Slack community. Connect with other pro-animal people and stay updated!
