She built the refuge from the ground up, and today the sanctuary educates thousands on common and inhumane practices in animal agriculture and ignites social change by empowering people to adopt a compassionate vegan lifestyle. Previous to founding Asha’s, Tracy launched the first Buffalo Vegan Society in Buffalo, NY and led the organization for nearly a decade. The society educated thousands and featured expert speakers, medical professionals and various educational programs on the benefits of a vegan lifestyle for health, the environment and ending farmed animal suffering. Tracy holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in management and leadership. Tracy’s long tenure in banking gave her the skills and knowledge to accomplish these demanding roles. She was an assistant vice president and officer-in-charge where she led and managed multiple projects in a highly dynamic and fast-paced global environment. After her beloved dog, Asha, passed away, Tracy made the life-changing decision to leave her lucrative career and comfortable life, to pursue her special interest in the not-for-profit sector and found Asha’s, with a special interest in abolishing the institutionalized cruelty to farmed animals through education and to help people adopt a cruelty-free lifestyle. She shares her home with a rescued Tibetan Mastiff, Stasha, and four feral cats: Binky, Samson, Rupert and Riley.
