About this event
In this social event, participants will take turns reading out loud to the group for 3 minutes from a chosen book's given chapter, followed by a brief discussion. It's an inclusive event, and the first book is Ed Winters' 'How to Argue with a Meat Eater.' Anyone can attend, but not everyone has to read out loud nor participate in group discussions, if they don't want to. Reading out loud to a live audience can:
- Help regulate breathing and reduce anxiety
- Provide a sense of accomplishment and validation
- Overcome the fear of public speaking and social interaction
- Increase self-expression and self-esteem
- Help build a supportive and understanding community
- Offer a potential for the promotion and exposure for vegan authors
- Foster an increased vocabulary and promote critical thinking
(For those that don't have the book and can't afford to buy one, you will need to borrow it from a friend or library).
