The African Diaspora is deeply rooted to land and food. In this virtual conversation marking Black History Month, community leaders working at the intersection of food and health will share their unique perspectives on food sovereignty, nutritional empowerment, and personal wellness, offering marginalized communities a pathway to healing. Our featured guests include Ismail Samad from the Corbin Hill Food Project, Jacque Salomon from Seeds to Inspire, and Henry Obispo from ReBORN Farms, moderated by Rebecca Johnson, PPMNY Partnerships Manager. Presenters: Ismail Samad is a social entrepreneur, enterprise developer, and a closed-loop food systems expert, currently serving as Interim Executive Director at the NYC-based Corbin Hill Food Project. Jacque Salomon is a trauma-informed lifestyle wellness mentor, transformational coach, and speaker based in Phoenix, AZ, and founder of the Seeds to Inspire Foundation. Eco-gastronomer Henry Obispo is the founder of ReBORN Farms, bringing urban farming to a NYCHA complex in the Bronx, and the United Business Cooperative.
