The Land Provides: Indigenous Foodways

Participants will be introduced to Indigenous foodways through storytelling and conversation, gaining an understanding of the people, culture, and history of the Americas and Caribbean. We will examine Indigenous food practices using belongings (artifacts) housed at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. We will discuss ancestral foods that have endured generations of colonialism, viewing them from a modern Indigenous perspective.
