Confronting Pronatalism and Human Supremacy: The Key to Advancing Reproductive and Animal Rights

Human expansionism is the leading driver of cascading ecological and social crises. Animal exploitation, in the form of accelerating rates of species extinction, diminishment of wildlife populations, and rapid growth of factory farms, tracks with the growth of the human footprint. However, population growth has become a taboo subject over the last several decades. Using an anti-oppression lens, speaker Nandita Bajaj will expose pronatalism and human supremacy as drivers of injustice and offer strategies for engaging in nuanced conversation and policy shifts. Nandita is the Executive Director of Population Balance, a U.S. nonprofit that works to inspire narrative, behavioral and system change toward substantially downscaling human impact to enable natural ecosystems, nonhuman animals, and humanity to flourish together.
