About this event
Hello Dear Friends and Happy New Year! ð
Please join me in celebration of winter abundance and new beginnings with a forest foraging frolic and feast! We will begin with a wander through the woods in search of fruiting bodies ð(we will have experts to help educate us on what we find), and after we have stretched our bodies and minds, we will replenish and nourish at The Grove Cafe in Felton, where Chef Jessica Yarr (of The Food Network's "Beat Bobby Flay" fame) will dazzle our taste buds with her uber creative and tantalizing vegan tasting menu (see photo).
There is a short pause in between the hike and the dinner, roughly an hour, and anyone who arrives to downtown Felton in advance of the 6:00 dinner hour can meet at the Felton Music Hall bar/restaurant for a hot chocolate, hot tea, or hot toddy. The Grove is just a few storefronts down so no need to re-park.
1:00 - 4:45 pm Hike and forage at Quail Hollow Ranch County Park, 3 mile loop hike (Woodcut Trail/Sunset Vista/Sunset/Lower Chaparral trails)
5:00 - 6:00 pm Sip something hot and chillax at the Felton Music Hall Bar/Restaurant
6:00 - 8:00 Dinner at The Grove Cafe in Felton
Come for one, two, or all three events (I would prefer it if you came to all, as this is intended to be an event where people mix and mingle and get to know each other, and I initiated the dinner with the chef). The foraging event is free, but you must buy tix to the dinner in advance ($95/125 per ticket, max 30 people), https://thegrovefelton.square.site/product/forest-feast/725 . These Supper Club events at The Grove sell out quickly, please don't hesitate to buy your ticket ASAP. If your plans change and need to sell it, you most likely can through Meetup messaging or through vegan Facebook groups (no promises!).
Dress in warm, dry layers for the forage, and bring along foraging supplies (bag, trowel, knife, guide book). It is unclear if harvesting fruiting bodies is permitted so please don't bring big baskets. Bring a change of clothes for dinner, The Grove is a classy place.
If you have questions, please call or text me at 415.699.6854
Hope to see you there!
Love,
