About this event

About this event Join Mercy for Animals and The Humane League for a Day of Action for Chickens! Chickens suffer some of the most horrific forms of abuse in our broken food system. In response to growing public concern, companies all over the world have pledged to eliminate some of the most extreme causes of suffering for chickens in their egg and meat supply chains. Some companies - like the targets of our Day of Action for Chickens - continue to profit off of animal welfare commitments without producing any evidence that they are actually following through. Join us on December 10th as we hold the companies behind two major restaurant brands, Dunkin’ and Noodles and Company, accountable to their promises to do better for chickens. We will meet at Noodles and Company at 3419 N Southport Ave. at 1pm. We will peacefully protest to demand that Noodles and Co. re-publish their Better Chicken Commitment pledge AND provide evidence that they are actively working towards this goal as they approach their 2024 deadline. At 2pm, we will travel together to Dunkin at 947 W Addison St. At 2:15pm, we will begin our peaceful protest to demand transparency from Dunkin’s parent company, Inspire Brands, who refuses to provide any evidence that they are fulfilling their promise to end the use of cruel battery cages in their egg supply chains. All materials are provided, and no experience is required. All you need is a desire to speak up against animal abuse! After an impactful day of speaking up for chickens, we will enjoy vegan pizza together at Dimo’s Pizza at 3463 N. Clark Street. Those who attend both protests eat for free, courtesy of The Humane League and Mercy for Animals! 🐔🐮🐷 By attending this and any other The Humane League event, you agree to adhere to The Humane League's Safer Spaces Policy. Thank you for creating an uplifting and supportive space for all activists in our community! The Humane League exists to end the abuse of animals raised for food by influencing the policies of the world’s biggest companies, demanding legislation, and empowering others to take action and leave animals off their plates. thehumaneleague.org Read more
