About this event

On Sunday, November 26, from 9 to 10 a.m. Pacific, Dharma Voices for Animals (DVA) cordially invites you to join the DVA community for our free, monthly one-hour virtual Mindfulness and Meditation Sangha for Animal Activists. We are working to build a safe and supportive community that welcomes everyone. No matter where you are on your journey, we want you to join us. Our sangha is led by DVA President Bob Isaacson and Sri Lankan American monk Venerable Bhante Sathi. You do not have to be an activist, a Buddhist, or even vegan or vegetarian to attend. Anyone who cares about the suffering of animals is welcome to join us. What we do ask is for everyone to be kind, supportive, compassionate, and to respect everyone's privacy. Together, we will practice: Mindfulness: knowing what our experience is in the present moment. Metta (Lovingkindness) and Compassion Meditation: for ourselves and the animals who suffer terribly on the way to the plates of those who eat them. Vipassana Meditation, the primary meditation technique taught by the Buddha, involves paying attention to present-moment experiences that lead to clarity, relaxation, and coming into harmony with our experiences. Bob Isaacson is the President and co-founder of Dharma Voices for Animals and an authorized lay Buddhist teacher. Venerable Bhante Sathi is a DVA Board member and Sri Lankan-American monk who teaches Buddhist monastics worldwide. Register for free at https://tinyurl.com/sangha-1126.
