Vegan Outreach Square at Manitou Springs Public Library

This is a street outreach campaign that employs direct action with the public, in a structured manner. We use standard practice footage displayed on screens to expose the truth about animal agriculture to the public and one on one conversations to educate them about animal exploitation. If you’d like to come and hold signs, or just stand with us to show support, you are welcome. Just your presence helps. Before attending an outreach event it is recommended that you learn the Outreach Protocol by watching the full “Holding Non-Vegans Accountable” outreach workshop and reading the Outreach Protocol document: Holding Non-Vegans Accountable Workshop: https://bit.ly/holdingnonvegansaccountable3 Outreach Protocol: http://bit.ly/AVOutreachProtocol Halloween masks, and signs are not required, but feel free to wear one or bring a sign with messages that is related to the vegan cause. If you’d like to hold a screen, please bring a fully charged laptop or tablet if you have one, with standard outreach footage and recommended media player already downloaded and ready to play on a loop. It is important to prepare your device ahead of time. Make sure your device is muted, has Wi-Fi disabled (to preserve battery life), has brightness maximized and password protection disabled. Always wear weather appropriate clothing. Absolutely no animal derived clothing! Respect your fellow activists and volunteers, adhere to our structure and represent our core values while attending outreach events. Some of us will be gathering as a group with laptops, tablets or signs in our hands, showing standard practice footage to show the truth of what is going on and educate people better. Others will be engaging the public. Others will just be standing with us in support. We will also pass cards or leaflets with information for people passing by. So feel free to talk to people! Weather: The weather will be nice we are assuming around that time! If not, we will be postponing that event until further notice.
