Join Animal Alliance Network + The Humane League and celebrate the win of Jollibee Foods Corporation committing to GLOBALLY ending the use of cruel cages where sensitive hens are currently trapped and confined in. 👉🏾🎉 We are meeting at One Veg World in West Covina to eat together and celebrate the progress we are making for the animals who suffer at the hands of corporate greed and in the egg industry. The company published a commitment to transition to 100% cage-free eggs in the US by 2025 and 100% cage-free eggs globally by 2035. This means that MILLIONS of hens will no longer be trapped in filthy cages where they cannot move and suffer from weak and broken bones. Jollibee Foods Corporation is the largest restaurant group in Asia. It is estimated that Jollibee has a global egg usage of over 600 million eggs per year. Let that SINK IN. In fact, Jollibee is the third-ranking global company (behind McDonald's and Zensho) for estimated egg usage outside the West. 2035 feels far away. Keep in mind that Jollibee is possibly the biggest cage-free egg commitment in Asia to date. This victory will create a ripple effect and an opportunity to pressure Jollibee’s competitors, freeing countless hens from the confinement of cruel cages. Thousands of digital actions were taken by animal rights groups around the world and dozens of protests were held across the US, Indonesia, Madrid, and London.
