About this event
The Ending Agricultural Trade Suppression (EATS) Act is a massive threat to animal protection laws. If passed, this one bill would erase decades of past and future progress for animals.
What are some of the animal protections threatened by the EATS Act?
California’s Proposition 12 and similar sales bans, like Massachusetts’ Question 3, both of which prohibit the sale of eggs from battery cages and meat from farms that keep mother pigs and veal calves in cages so small they can’t turn around
Protections for dogs in puppy mills
Laws banning the sale of force-fed foie gras
Bans on the sale of eggs from hens raised in battery cages
Protections against painful animal experiments for cosmetic testing
And many more.
Help protect your state’s ability to control what is sold within its borders to protect animals, people, and our environment. Join other activists on Saturday September 23rd from 2-4 pm to contact your legislators and write letters to the editor. Whether you're a seasoned letter writer or just starting your journey, all are welcome.
Together, we can defeat the EATS Act and keep it out of the 2023 Farm Bill.
