An Interfaith Celebration for Animals - Parliament of the World's Religions

Will you be in Chicago for the Parliament of World Religions? Join us on Tuesday morning from 8 - 9:30 am CDT for the “Interfaith Celebration for Animals,” an immersive liturgical experience designed to reflect on our relationships with the diverse species with whom we share the planet. The Compassion Consortium is bringing this event to Chicago in collaboration with In Defense of Animals' Interfaith Vegan Coalition and the Animal Interfaith Alliance. There are prayers, meditations, and sacred readings from the world’s religions and wisdom traditions that highlight the human-animal bond throughout a wide range of cultures and religions. It concludes with a powerful prayer visioning a peaceful world where people of all faiths and philosophies work together to treat humans, animals and habitats with respect and compassion, and where the Golden Rule is extended to include all sentient beings.
