About this event

The Ending Agricultural Trade Suppression (EATS) Act is a massive threat to our crucial work and we must work to defeat it. āœŠšŸ½ Years ago, volunteers took action to help pass Prop 12 in California, which is considered the strongest farm animal protection law in the United States and possibly in the world. Now this historic win is under attack with the EATS Act and we're doing what we do best: bringing our incredible community together to protect animals' rights to be free from cages. During the webinar, you'll learn more about what you can do to help such as contacting your legislators and writing letters to the editor. šŸ’» Sign up to attend this virtual webinar at 8pm Eastern / 7pm Central / 6pm Mountain / 5pm Pacific. Learn from Hannah Truxell, Senior Policy Counsel at The Humane League and Kate Brindle, Senior Public Policy Specialist for Farm Animal Protection at the Humane Society of the United States. Hannah and Kate will tell us more about the catastrophic Ending Agricultural Trade Suppression Act (EATS Act) that is currently pending in Congress and the power each one of us holds to defeat it. A small sample of the thousands of laws that would be eliminated under the Ending Agricultural Trade Suppression (EATS) Act: Pollutant and emissions standards for agricultural operations that protect the environment Laws banning the use of cruel cages in animal farming Bans on the use of dangerous pesticides and their application to crops grown for human consumption Country of origin label requirements for food products Wildlife protection laws Child labor laws Laws aimed at preventing fire hazards State requirements for drugs that contain opioid properties and alcohol and tobacco sales to minors Laws banning the sale of dogs from puppy mills Laws banning the sale of cosmetics tested on animals
