There will be time at the end for a live Q&A to answer any of your questions. Allan Kornberg, MD, MBA, FAAP, a pediatrician, serves as a board member and treasurer with Dharma Voices for Animals. He is the medical director & executive director of the Physicians Association for Nutrition USA [PAN], an international charity. PAN is committed to educating health professionals, students, the general public, and policymakers about the value of whole food, plant-based nutrition in promoting good health and preventing and treating disease. He works on PAN's programs in the United States and supports its international growth, particularly in Global South countries. Allan's clinical work included practicing both primary care and emergency pediatrics. He co-edited 'Child Abuse and Neglect-A Medical Reference,' and served as Vice-Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Buffalo and Chief of Emergency Medicine and General Pediatrics. He was an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at UB and an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Brown University. Allan's additional healthcare roles included being a cofounder of Orchard Park Pediatrics and first medical director, then CEO of Network Health - a healthplan in Massachusetts serving impoverished individuals. Dr. Kornberg has held leadership positions with medical, humanitarian, and animal protection organizations, including chief medical officer of the National Initiative for Children's Healthcare Quality, president of the Erie County (NY) Committee on Rape and Sexual Assault, and executive director of World Animal Protection-USA, and was executive director of Farm Sanctuary. He received his SB from MIT in Biology, MD from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai, and MBA from the University of Rochester. He was resident and chief resident in Pediatrics at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine. Chirra Taworntawat (Coach Bank), Ph.D. Dharma Voices for Animals Thailand Project Director. Director Dr. Chirra Taworntawat, Ph.D., likes to be called "Coach Bank." Coach Bank is a former monk and is currently a Buddhist practitioner. He received his Ph.D. in public health at the renowned Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. He is bilingual, speaking Thai and English, having attended secondary school in the UK. Bank is also well known in Thailand for his vegan mentoring on his YouTube Channel Coach Bank, with over 418,000 followers. Dr. Susan Silver-Lane MD DVA Member·Retired Susan Silver-Lane, MD, is a Family Medicine physician and certified life coach. She has been a vegetarian for many years but transitioned to whole food plant-based eating five years ago because of the many positive health effects and the benefits for animals and the climate. She has practiced mindfulness and meditation for thirteen years and has been a DVA member for four years. After thirty years at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego, Susan retired from clinical practice two years ago, including eight years directing the Employee Health Department. She currently coaches people on using mindfulness and mindset to change unhealthy habits and patterns in their lives. Susan received her bachelor's degree in Microbiology and her MD degree from UCLA. She completed her medical residency at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles. Susan and her husband have raised six wonderful children.
