About this event

Do you want to eat more plant-based food but not sure how to start? Or maybe you’re struggling to stick to your goals for healthful plant-based eating? We’ve got the perfect event for you! Join us on Tuesday, May 16 at 7:00pm (ET) to hear Dr. Niki Davis discuss how to successfully switch to, and stick to, eating plant-based food. Dr. Davis, who has counseled numerous patients on transitioning to plant-based diets, will discuss the following topics: How to successfully transition to and maintain plant-based eating. How to maintain this way of eating for LIFE! Tips on getting adequate calcium, protein, iron, and other nutrients from plant foods. How healthy carbs can help avoid hunger and help you stick to plant-based eating Participants will also be provided with tips and a related resource guide for super-easy and convenient healthy (and delicious!) meals that make it even easier to enjoy plant-based eating! Extensive research has shown that healthy plant-based foods can help to prevent, and in some cases reverse, leading chronic diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure. Several leading health organizations, including the World Health Organization and the American Cancer Society, recommend a plant-centered diet rich in vegetables, fruit, beans, and whole grains, and also recommend avoiding or limiting red and processed meats. Plant-based food generally is far better for the planet and also helps to create a more compassionate world for billions of animals, including in the US where the vast majority of the animal products consumed comes from factory farms.
