About this event

Presented with Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan and sponsored by the Esselstyn Family Foundation Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the U.S. for men and women -- but evidence increasingly shows that we can end the epidemic by changing what we eat. Join Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan and Plant Powered Metro New York for this virtual series exploring the power of whole food, plant-based nutrition in not only reducing our risk of heart disease and stroke, but also reversing plaque build-up and lowering cholesterol to normal levels. In honor of Heart Health Month, we feature nutrition pioneer Caldwell Esselstyn, Jr., MD, author of Prevent & Reverse Heart Disease, who demonstrated reversal of advanced heart disease in his research at the Cleveland Clinic. An internationally-renowned surgeon, researcher, and clinician, Dr. Esselstyn is joined by his wife Ann, an educator, and daughter Jane, a registered nurse, who have helped countless people change their lives with plants. Session 1: How Plants Reverse Heart Disease Learn the groundbreaking results of Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Jr.'s 20-year nutritional study, the longest study of its kind ever conducted, and understand why nutrition addresses the root cause of heart disease. Bring your questions for a lively Q&A with Dr. Esselstyn and Jane Esselstyn, RN.
