Plant Powered Book Club: How the Other Half Eats

Our February book, How the Other Half Eats, explores inequality across the American dinner table. From her years of field research, sociologist and ethnographer Priya Fielding-Singh brings us into the kitchens of dozens of families from varied educational, economic, and ethnoracial backgrounds to explore how—and why—we eat the way we do. Read about the challenges families face, from food access to dietary restrictions, and how our experiences shape our relationship with food. Our book club discussion is facilitated by Lynn Diamond, PPMNY's Associate Network Director & Director of Community Education. Please note that this is a book group discussion and will not include a report on the contents of the book. For the benefit of everyone, please read at least half, if not all, of the book before joining us. Event access is by donation or free to anyone unable to contribute.
