About this event
This program, with author Jim Mason, is based on his classic expose, "An Unnatural Order: The Roots of our Destruction of Nature." His book explores the cruelty of mechanized animal farming and slaughter. This presentation analyzes the West's "dominionist" worldview which exalts humans as overlords and owners of other life, an outlook that he believes is rooted in millennia of animal husbandry.
Mason will explain how restoring our kinship with animals is central to bridging the rift between humanity and nature. His powerfully argued manifesto has changed many readers' attitudes toward hamburgers, animal experimentation, hunting and circuses.
Jim Mason is an author and attorney who focuses on human/animal concerns. In addition to "An Unnatural Order," he also co-authored "The Ethics of What We Eat: Why Our Food Choices Matter" and "Animal Factories", with well-known ethicist Peter Singer.
This workshop takes place on Zoom. Link to be posted here as the date approaches.
