About this event
Giving season is coming up and many of us want to give to improve the lives of animals, particularly those in industrial agriculture. Animal sanctuaries and shelters are an option, but generally you can improve the lives of many more animals by giving to advocacy campaigns, welfarist reforms, or supporting alternative proteins.
This event will be an informal discussion to talk about giving options such as Animal Charity Evaluators
(https://animalcharityevaluators.org/) and their Recommend Charity Fund, the EA Animal Welfare Fund (https://funds.effectivealtruism.org/funds/animal-welfare), and other farmed animal welfare organizations.
A few animal philanthropy experts will be there, so don't be afraid to bring highly specific questions!
In particular, Alex Beck will be there to answer questions (former director of the Open Wing Alliance, EA Animal Welfare Fund co-manager, Meta Burger co-owner).
Edgewater Public Market has two fully vegan restaurants (Meta burger and Gladys) as well as vegan options at other restaurants.
This is a joint event with Effective Altruism Colorado.
