About this event

Domestic regulatory measures adopted in order to protect animals from cruel practices can result in some degree of restriction on international trade. When this happens, there is a risk that such a measure might be challenged under the multilateral legal framework of the World Trade Organization (WTO). This talk will provide a brief overview of the reasoning for such challenges and examine the analysis in two WTO disputes concerning animal protection measures.
