About this event
Have you tried to make the switch to a plant-based lifestyle and gotten sidetracked? Or do you feel intimidated to even try? The Pleasure Trap, as described by Douglas J. Lisle, PhD, and Alan Goldhamer, DC, is the forces around us that make it difficult to walk away from pleasurable yet destructive habits like eating processed foods and overeating. But there are strategies that can help.
Join Jen Howk, PhD, for a 3-part series that explains what the Pleasure Trap is, how to avoid getting stuck, and some tips and tricks for getting back on track if you stumble. Topics covered will include:
Social pressures and how to "get along without going along"
Why different personality types need different strategies for success
How to balance the Pleasure Trap with the "ego trap" without getting caught in either
Why progress, not perfection, should be your guiding star
Q&A on any other questions!
Dr. Jen works with Dr. Doug Lisle as a health and life coach, helping clients with issues around health and weight loss, self-esteem, relationships, motivation, family issues, and more. She is a recovering food addict and alcoholic who lost 100 pounds with a whole food, plant-based approach, and has learned the hard way how to stick to a healthy plant-based diet and stay motivated even when things get (very) challenging. For more information you can visit www.esteemdynamics.com.
Attendance at all three sessions is encouraged but not required. Event access is by donation or free to anyone unable to contribute. Please choose the option that fits you best and join us! Registrants will receive a Zoom link on the day of the event.
