About this event

Is nonviolent communication effective in animal advocacy?Nonviolent communication is a method used to increase empathy and listening skills within conflict discussions to help create a solution-focused conversation that satisfies both sides. This tool is frequently used in relationship counseling, business negotiation, and for efforts in social change. Nonviolent communication is based on searching for the deeper meanings behind issues that arise between groups of people. Join Laura Union for a conversation on how we can create cooperative, open-minded, and non-judgmental spaces to discuss frustrations while also allowing both sides the opportunity to clarify their needs and make requests.About Laura UnionLaura Union is an animal rights advocate, humor writer, and fellow Humane League Changemaker. She is currently working on a masters degree in Humane Education with plans to influence ethical policies for humans and animals. Laura is working to educate her community on animal sentience, environmental effects, and the benefits of plant-based diets.
