International Animal Rights Gathering 2022, taking place in Georgia on September 9-12, is the 5th international event of its kind, aiming to bring together activists from all over the planet.

STORY
IARG was initially inspired by the concept of the International Animal Liberation Gathering, traditionally taking place every summer in Europe. IARG was organized in Georgia three times (in 2014, 2015 and 2019) hosting activists from many different countries and was also made online once — in 2020 — due to pandemic restrictions.
AIM
The gathering is dedicated to improving the skills and knowledge of activists, promoting and improving co-operation and co-ordination between individuals and groups all over the world in order to build and maintain a strong global movement fighting animal oppression and spreading the values of compassion and respect. As long as the majority of big businesses focused on animal exploitation function internationally and often jointly, it is inevitable and crucial that an effective counterforce should grow, develop, learn and work on a global level as well.
SCHEDULE
— 9 September — arrival at the campsite, IARG 2022 official opening, dinner
— 10-11 September — IARG 2022 camp events (workshops, discussions and other activities)
— 12 September — breakfast, departure.
WORKSHOPS
Your initiative regarding the workshops, discussions, movie screenings and entertainment is highly welcome at IARG, so if you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact the organizers. The crew will do its best to take into account all the feedback to make the gathering useful, interesting, comfortable and memorable. If you want to present your own workshop at IARG, please contact the organizers before 15 August 2022.
Based on experience of the past gatherings and looking forward to upgrade our impact we ask IARG speakers to prepare the workshops consisting of two parts:
— Theoretical (presentation)
— Practical (individual and group tasks, games etc.)
so the audience would have not just an opportunity to absorb the information but also to put it into action. In other words, besides the lectorium we’re gonna have some kind of a weekend activist incubator.
Taking into account the overwhelming consequences of Russian war aggression in Ukraine we will also arrange certain discussions and workshops concerning the complex psychological and political landscape we all have to face and live in.
ORGANIZATION
IARG 2022 will be located close to Ureki on Georgia’s Black Sea coast, between the mountains and the sea, and in the bosom of the country’s fabulous nature. Participants will be able to camp in the large yard on site, and there will also be some limited space for those wishing to sleep inside (please let the crew know about your special needs in advance).
Participants should bring their own tents, sleeping bags and all other needed camping equipment.
PARTICIPATION
If you want to take part in IARG 2022, please fill in the form before 25 August 2022.
We will send you a confirmation of your registration for the event on your email address provided in the form.

CATERING
Three vegan meals will be provided by the organizers per day. If you have any special medical requirements for food, please let the crew know in advance.
Please bring a tablespoon, a soup bowl and a cup with you!
COSTS
The crew always does its best to keep the costs (for catering) to a minimum. IARG 2022 participation fee is 40 GEL (~14 Euro) per participant. If for any reason you are unable to pay the fee, please contact the organizers: iargathering@gmail.com
There will also be donation boxes in case you want to support Georgian animal rights movement.
TRANSPORTATION
There are two international airports in Georgia. Tbilisi is a capital and receives lots of flights from all over the world, though Kutaisi airport is closer to the location of the event and hosts many low cost flights from Europe. Participants take care of their transfer to the gathering location. We will provide detailed tips for transportation to the location to all registered participants. The costs for public transport from Tbilisi to Ureki are estimated as 25-30 GEL (8-10 Euro), from Kutaisi — 15-20 GEL (5-7 Euro). Hitchhiking is also common and accepted in Georgia.
PHOTO/VIDEO EQUIPMENT AND MOBILE PHONES
The use of photo and video equipment is allowed at the workshops, unless otherwise specified. Those who wish not to appear in photos/videos for any reason, should tell the crew in advance so footage can be arranged in a way that no-one’s privacy is violated.
DISCRIMINATION
Adherents of any ideas of supremacism are not welcome at the gathering. IARG 2022 is a peaceful event for people of different cultures and lifestyles, so the absence of persons with discriminative views is a result of safety considerations which is #1 in the list of organization priorities.
MERCHANDISE
Participants are welcome to bring thematic and associated merchandise to the campsite. Note that the crew can’t promise somewhere to display merchandise (such as tables), but we might be able to improvise on site together.
