The World Stands With Wang-Wang | Demonstration | Chicago, IL

Wang Wang stayed beside her two-week-old puppies after they were reportedly beaten with wooden sticks and stabbed to death. She was then drenched with an accelerant and set on fire, running and screaming in agony as she burned alive. Unlike most countries, China lacks anti-cruelty laws for companion animals, meaning that Wang Wang and her puppies will never receive justice for what was done to them. We are respectfully calling on China’s government to enact legislation to provide nationwide legal protections for stray and companion animals across the country. Please join us on September 24, 2026 at the Chinese Consulate General in Chicago for a peaceful demonstration and march from 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM. Your participation is deeply valued! We will hold signs outside the Chinese Consulate General building starting at 10:30 AM for 1 hour. Then, we will begin marching around 11:30 AM and walk eastward on Erie St towards Michigan Avenue, U-turn at Michigan Ave and march westward back to the Consulate building, which should take about 30 minutes round trip. We will finish at the Consulate and disband around 1:00 PM. This is an outdoor event, so please dress for the weather and bring water to stay hydrated. Signs will be provided.
