Slaughterhouse Vigil

On Thursday, November 19, we will gather outside Mecca Halal Foods in Newark, NJ, to bear witness to the innocent animals arriving at the slaughterhouse. For these animals, this is their final day alive. They are individuals. They feel fear. They experience pain. They want to live, just as we do. And while we may not be able to save them that morning, we can make sure they are not forgotten. We will gather peacefully to offer whatever love, comfort, and compassion we can to these beautiful souls before they enter the slaughterhouse. Because their lives matter. And they deserve so much more than the fate awaiting them.
